Radio One, Inc. Announces Class D Shares included on a Preliminary List of Additions to Russell Indices

WASHINGTON, June 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Radio One, Inc. (NASDAQ: ROIAK; ROIA) announced today that its Class D shares were included on a preliminary list of additions to the Russell 2000® Index, the Russell 3000® Index and the Russell Global® Index, according to information posted by Russell Investments on June 13, 2014. The final 2014 reconstitution of the Russell Indexes will take place after the market closes on June 27, 2014 and final membership lists will be posted on June 30, 2014, with trading in the reconstituted indices commencing that same day.

According to the Russell Investment website, the Russell 2000® Index measures the performance of the small-cap segment of the U.S. equity universe. The Russell 2000® Index is a subset of the Russell 3000® Index representing approximately 10% of the total market capitalization of that index. It includes approximately 2000 of the smallest securities based on a combination of their market cap and current index membership. The Russell 2000® is constructed to provide a comprehensive and unbiased small-cap barometer and is completely reconstituted annually to ensure larger stocks do not distort the performance and characteristics of the true small-cap opportunity set.  The Russell Global® Index measures the performance of the global equity market based on all investable equity securities. All securities in the Russell Global® Index are classified according to size, region, country, and sector; as a result the index can be segmented into thousands of distinct benchmarks. The Russell Global® Index is constructed to provide a comprehensive and unbiased barometer for the global segment and is completely reconstituted annually to accurately reflect the changes in the market over time.
