Revised: Radio One, Inc. Creates Innovative Home at Local Mall; Valley View Center in Dallas Houses 97.9 The Beat and Magic 94.5

DALLAS, Feb 14, 2002 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- When the time came to shop for new office space, Radio One executives weren't really thinking of going to the local mall. But the perfect space turned out to be an area previously used by a theater at Dallas' Valley View Center, where with plenty of room and much creativity, Radio One, Inc. (Nasdaq: ROIAK; ROIA) designed the new innovative studios for 97.9 The Beat and Magic 94.5.

The modern 14,000 square foot facility houses two broadcast studios, two fully equipped production studios, mix room, newsroom and office space for executives and employees. Additionally, Radio One built a small auditorium into the space which serves as venue for private concerts and events, with a built-in half basketball court for the entertainment of listeners, fans and employees.

"We designed our new space with our listeners in mind," said George Laughlin, general manager for 97.9 The Beat and Magic 94.5. "We want them to feel like they have direct access to our stations, our on-air personalities and our musical guests, and our new location allows us just that."

KBFB, 97.9 The Beat and KTXQ, Magic 94.5 have officially begun broadcasting and conducting business operations in their new home at 13331 Preston Road, Suite 1180, Dallas, TX 75240. On February 20, Radio One, Inc. will host a reception to celebrate the official opening of their new offices and studios in the lower level, Dillard's corridor of Valley View Center.

Radio One executives Alfred Liggins, CEO, Mary Catherine Sneed, COO, and air personalities Tom Joyner and Russ Parr, will be on hand for the grand-opening ceremony and reception. Local officials and dignitaries and members of the local and national music industry will also be in attendance.

Radio One, Inc., the Urban Radio Specialist, is the nation's seventh largest radio broadcasting company and the largest primarily targeting African-American and urban listeners. Pro forma for all announced acquisitions and divestitures, the Company owns and/or operates 65 radio stations located in 22 of the largest markets in the United States and programs five channels on XM Satellite Radio Systems.
