Radio One, Inc. Hires Carl D. Hamilton as Vice President and Regional Manager

Will Oversee the Operations of the Company's Houston, Dallas, St. Louis, And Cleveland Markets, as Well as Indianapolis' LPTV

Radio One, Inc. (Nasdaq: ROIAK, ROIA) announced today that, effective April 22, 2002, it has hired Carl D. Hamilton as Vice President and Regional Manager of its Houston (KMJQ-FM, KBXX-FM), Dallas (KBFB-FM, KTXQ-FM), St. Louis (WFUN-FM), Cleveland (WENZ-FM, WERE-AM, WZAK-FM, WJMO-AM) and Indianapolis (LPTV) markets. In this newly created position, Mr. Hamilton will oversee the operations of those markets. He will report to Radio One's Chief Operating Officer, Mary Catherine Sneed. Mr. Hamilton will be based in the Houston market.

For the last seven years, Mr. Hamilton was employed by Clear Channel Communications, and most recently held the position of Vice President and Market Manager of their eight-station Houston cluster. He joined Clear Channel in August 1994 as Vice President and General Manager of KBXX-FM in Houston and was later promoted to Vice President and General Manager of KHMX- FM and KTBZ-FM, also in Houston. Mr. Hamilton held other Vice President and General Manager positions from 1980 to 1990 with various companies. Previous to general management, he was a successful radio station Program Director and claimed three national Billboard Magazine awards in 1977.
