Will Oversee the Operations of the Company's Louisville, Columbus, Dayton and Cincinnati Markets Will Become General Manager of the Cincinnati Stations

Radio One, Inc. (Nasdaq: ROIAK; ROIA) announced that, as of November 19, 2001, it has hired Rick Porter as Senior Vice President and Regional Manager of its Louisville (WDJX-FM, WBLO-FM, WGZB- FM, WULV-FM, WMJM, WLRS-FM), Columbus (WCKX-FM, WXMG-FM, WJYD-FM), Dayton (WGTZ-FM, WDHT-FM, WING-AM WKSW-FM) and Cincinnati (WIZF-FM, WDBZ-AM) markets. In this newly created position, Mr. Porter will oversee the operations of those markets. In addition, he will assume the responsibilities of General Manager for the Cincinnati stations in which he will oversee the day-to-day operations. Mr. Porter will report to Radio One's Chief Operating Officer, Mary Catherine Sneed. Mr. Porter will be based in the Cincinnati market.

For the last three years, Mr. Porter served as the Vice President and Market Manager of Clear Channel's WMMX-FM, WTUE-FM, WLQT-FM, WXEG-FM, WDKF-FM, WBKI-FM, WONE-AM, and WIZE-AM in Dayton, Ohio. Mr. Porter started his broadcasting career as an Account Executive for Affiliated Broadcasting's WSAI-FM, and Taft Broadcasting's WKRQ-FM in Cincinnati, Ohio. In 1982, Mr. Porter was promoted to Taft's WDAE-AM as Local Sales Manager in Tampa, Florida. Two years later he moved back to Cincinnati to work for Jacor Communication's WLW-AM where he was quickly propelled from Regional to Local and then to General Sales Manager. Before being promoted to his last position with Jacor/Clear Channel, Mr. Porter held the fort down in Salt Lake City as the Vice President and General Manager for their KALL-AM, KODJ-FM, and KWLW- AM.
