Radio One, Inc. Installs New Personalities at Its Dayton, Ohio Station WDHT-FM - 'The New Hot 102.9'
Formerly WING-FM, the Station's Call Letters Changed on October 22, 2001
Radio One, Inc. (Nasdaq: ROIAK; ROIA) announced today, that effective November 1, 2001 it has hired J.J. Jennings for its Midday air-shift (10am-3pm), Marcel Thornton for its Afternoon air-shift (3pm-7pm) and will move Yvette "The Diva" Williams from Midday to Evenings at WDHT-FM "The New Hot 102.9" in the Dayton, Ohio market. They will report to the station's Operations Manager, J.D. Kunes.Ms. Jennings comes from WBLS-FM in New York where she held the Evening air-shift. Ms. Jennings started her on-air career in August '95 at rock station WKET-FM in Kettering, Ohio. From there she has done various stints throughout the Ohio Valley and also with WCLK-FM in Atlanta, Georgia and WKKV- FM in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Mr. Thornton leaves WTLZ-FM in Saginaw, Michigan as the Promotions Director and Afternoon Personality. Marcel has worked throughout the Louisiana and South Carolina markets as the Morning and/or Afternoon Personality. He started his radio career in April '91 with WHDT's sister station, WERQ-FM in Baltimore, Maryland.
