Radio One, Inc. Promotes Randy James To Program Director of Minneapolis' KTTB-FM

Radio One, Inc. (Nasdaq: ROIAK; ROIA) announced today, that effective September 1, 2001, it has promoted Randy James to Program Director of, KTTB-FM 96.3 in the Minneapolis, Minnesota market. Mr. James was the Director of Programming & Operations of WGTZ-FM, WING-FM, WKSW-FM, and WING-AM in Dayton, Ohio. In his new position, Mr. James will direct the overall programming of the station. He will report to Steve Woodbury, General Manager of the Minneapolis stations.Mr. James was Director of Programming & Operations of WGTZ-FM, WING-FM, WKSW-FM, and WING-AM in Dayton for a year. Mr. James began his career in programming as an Operations Manager with ARS' WMMX-FM in Dayton, Ohio in 1992. He moved to Washington, DC in '94 to work for Disney/ABC's WRQX-FM as Operations Managers. During his three-year tenure, the station consistently ranked in the top three Persons 25-49. In '97, Mr. James returned to Ohio as the Program Director of Jacor's WMVX-FM in Cleveland. He took that "sign on" station from zero to number one in most Adult, Male and Female demos within the first year! For the next two years, he served as Director of Programming for Clear Channel Communication's KHMX-FM in the Houston/Galveston market and KEGL-FM and KDMX-FM in the Dallas/Ft. Worth market. Within three rating books, KHMX-FM went from number seven to number one. Also, under his guidance, KEGL-FM and KDMX-FM went to number one with Men and number two with Women, respectively. Mr. James held the position of Director of Mix Programming for several of Clear Channel/Jacor's markets from 1998 to 2000.
